Job Description
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Area Manager to join our team at our Haslet, TX distribution center. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, this role will be instrumental in leading the daily operations of the warehouse. You will collaborate closely with the leadership team, customer care, and sales departments to ensure we meet and exceed our customers' expectations. We are looking for a reliable and motivated leader with strong potential for future growth within the organization—someone who can engage teams and foster a positive, productive work environment.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the warehouse, including staff scheduling and coordinating productivity to meet operational goals.
Manage warehouse personnel, including setting performance goals, conducting annual reviews, providing training, and handling disciplinary actions when necessary.
Monitor and operate within the agreed budget (P&L) for the warehouse.
Develop and mentor supervisory and lead staff on leadership essentials.
Collaborate on creating and refining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for warehouse functions.
Oversee inventory control activities to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
Utilize the Warehouse Management System (WMS) to manage cycle counting, product placement, space utilization, and accuracy.
Identify opportunities for technological enhancements to improve warehouse efficiency.
Partner with sales, customer service teams, and other managers to implement new business and resolve any operational service issues.
Drive and maintain a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with safety programs and guidelines.
Ensure the safe and productive use of material handling equipment and oversee maintenance processes.
Promote the company's values and mission, achieving excellence in all operations.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will bring experience in warehousing and logistics, with a focus on safety, reliability, and continuous improvement. Experience in food safety is highly desirable.
Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Business, or a related field is preferred, though not required.
Minimum of 4 years of experience in a supervisory or managerial role within warehousing, logistics, or supply chain operations.
Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and coach teams effectively.
Excellent customer service orientation, both internal and external.
A proactive problem-solver with a strong sense of urgency and a results-driven approach.
Exceptional analytical, communication (both oral and written), and organizational skills.
Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple priorities effectively.
Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
