Job Description



AECOM is actively seeking a Pipeline Inspector to be located in the Baltimore, MD Metropolitan area.

The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for setting own project deadlines.
  • Provides on the job training to new employees.
  • Responsible for monitoring conformance to quality, performance, specifications, and/or code requirements by performing inspection duties.
  • Performs daily field inspections and maintains inspection records.
  • Participates in punch lists, testing, and commissioning.
  • Tracks quality assurance progress.
  • Provides input to documentation for area and equipment turnovers.
  • Ensures compliance with safety regulations and procedures.
  • Coordinates with project managers and contractors to resolve issues.
  • Prepares detailed inspection reports and documentation.
  • Identifies potential risks and recommends preventive measures.
  • Participates in project meetings and provides updates on inspection progress.
  • Conducts material testing and verifies quality of supplies.
  • Monitors environmental impact and ensures adherence to environmental regulations.
  • Assists in developing and updating inspection procedures and checklists.

     

Qualifications



Minimum

Qualifications

  • HS + 6 Years of Experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License and as a condition of employment, must be able to pass AECOM’s Motor Vehicle Records review.

Qualifications

:
  • Experienced with various pipe installations relating to materials (concrete, RCP, ductile iron, PVC, steel, and others) and sizes from small diameter piping (service lines 5/8" to 1" up to transmission lines/trunk sewers of 60" and larger).
  • Experienced with working in the streets, rights-of-way, crossing streams, avoiding & troubleshooting to resolve field conflicts.
  • Familiar with and experienced in enforcing traffic control requirements with contractors
  • Experienced and adept in interfacing with the public, specifically residents affected by water utility service interruptions. 
  • Experience inspecting construction work at water/wastewater treatment facilities.
