The Meat Cutter performs functions related to the cutting, prepping, and ready to cook meat items for displayJob DescriptionResponsibilities
- Check product to ensure it meets WFM quality standards.
- Proper storage and rotation of all products; keep everything organized, labeled, and clean.
- Understand and perform all opening, mid and closing duties.
- Monitor and assist in preventing spoilage.
- Monitor product availability, preparation, storage, and nutritional aspects
- Read and stay informed daily on communication from regional and store leadership.
- Use courteous and proper etiquette when answering the phones and pages.
- Comply with all applicable Health and Safety Codes.
- Make sure temp logs, sweep logs and sanitation logs are completed.
- Ensure that product mix meets varied guest dietary needs and requests.
- Successfully complete meat department, safety and sanitation courses.
- Ability to perform all the duties and responsibilities of a Meat Cutter.
- Proper use of all equipment such as knives, personal protective equipment, forklift, pallet jacks, hand trucks, six wheel carts, baler, and all other equipment used during preparation and clean up within department and facility.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Ability to deliver information in a clear and respectable manner to fellow team members and guests
- Working understanding of and compliance with all WFM policies and procedures
- Meets all guest service expectations and standards in all interactions with guests, vendors and fellow team members
- Ability to complete all tasks in a thorough and timely manner.
- Working understanding of and compliance with all WFM quality goals, and thorough product knowledge
- Demonstrate responsibility and accountability in recognizing and accomplishing all tasks where there is a direct job responsibility
- Working knowledge and application of all merchandising expectations within the department with a specific focus on attention to detail
- Able to work a flexible schedule based on the needs of the store, including nights, weekends and holidays

The wage range for this position is $17.50 - $30.20 Hourly, commensurate with experience. Whole Foods Market offers "Whole Benefits".
