Job Description

Do you have game economy design experience, and are you seeking a new remote role? Skillsearch is helping a collaborative company recruit a Game Economy Designer, and the role comes with an attractive salary of up to £50,000.

As a Game Economy Designer, you will design the in-game economy and corresponding features. You will also need to define the metrics, which will enable you to balance and fine-tune the game’s economy and work closely with the development and publishing teams to see those metrics implemented and designs refined.

To give you an idea of how this flexible role would look and feel, here are some of the things you could expect to do:

• Design and audit the in-game economy to drive long-term retention and conversion 
• Identify the potential sale drivers for the different product categories in the game economy, and define the key points of exposure for those drivers 
• Define the virtual products and their statistics with the development team and understand how each contributes to the game dynamics 
• Manage pricing of virtual products to create specific price point roles, and implement selling strategies for various price points 

To apply for this Game Economics Designer role, you will need a degree in Game Economy Design or extensive experience in the design, and live support of free-to-play games. You will also require the following:

• A detailed understanding of the player's behaviours and latest business models 
• Keen analytical skills 
• The ability to translate analytical findings into actionable recommendations within the game 
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
