Job Description

Why Join:

At BCNC, we are passionate about making a meaningful difference in our community. Our team is driven by a shared commitment to social impact and is both supportive and resourceful. We believe in fostering an empowering and inclusive work environment where every individual can contribute, grow, and thrive. If you are looking for a rewarding career that allows you to align your passion with making meaningful change, explore our open positions and join us in our mission to pave the way for a better tomorrow.

What You Will Do:

The Family Child Care Coordinator is a member of the BCNC Family Child Care team, which is responsible for communicating and supporting families enrolled in our culturally and linguistically competent family childcare homes. You will work cooperatively with a team of licensed providers and administrative employees to provide support and resources for the family and their children. You will report directly to the Director of Child Care Services. This is a part-time role of 20 hours per week.

In this role, you will:

  • Meet with families, explore potential family child care homes with available slots, and schedule visits.
  • Orient families to the program by going through the parent and health care manuals to help them understand the program.
  • Review the child’s developmental history with the parents and support the family in completing the AGES, STAGES, and AGES screenings. Help families understand the screening results.
  • Visit the family child care home to observe the child within the first weeks of enrollment and to gather information from the family child care educator about the child’s progress.
  • Communicate with each family monthly either in person, by phone, or via Zoom to check on the family’s satisfaction with the program, any needed resources, and support.
  • Attend the family child care home parent conferences quarterly for infants and children with disabilities and minimally every six months for other children.
  • Communicate monthly with family child care educators to learn about the needs and development of the children in their care. Support them when needed to communicate effectively and sensitively with families.
  • Work with the Intake Specialist to ensure that children’s records and family information meet the Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) requirements.
  • When families need resources and support to obtain early intervention or special needs services, work with the family to obtain these services.
  • Plan and implement one or more family events each year to promote connection between families.

What We Look For:

  • Associate degree in Early Childhood Education, Human Services, or Psychology.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working with families in supportive and respectful ways.
  • Knowledge of children’s development.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office software.
  • The ability to manage and track multiple tasks and responsibilities.
  • Highly preferred experience working with people of different backgrounds and a high level of cultural competency.
  • Professional working proficiency in Cantonese or Mandarin Chinese is a plus.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive compensation package.
  • Comprehensive health coverage, including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance.
  • Retirement plan options with employer matching.
  • Enhanced paid time off offerings for personal days, sick, vacation, and holidays.
  • Opportunities for professional development and growth.
  • Flexible work arrangements.

Working Conditions:

  • Must be available to work a flexible schedule and may require local travel during the workday.
  • Work is performed primarily in a standard work environment, including the operation of computer equipment, and physical demands associated with a traditional work setting, e.g., walking, standing, communicating, and other physical functions, as necessary.

Please Note:

You must be authorized to work in the United States. BCNC does not provide sponsorship for an employment work visa.
