About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Device Clinic RN to join our outpatient clinic team. In this role, you will provide direct patient care, assist with procedures, and support a smooth clinical workflow. Your expertise will help ensure that patients with implanted cardiac devices receive exceptional care.
What You'll Do
Interrogate, evaluate, and program implanted cardiac devices during in-person patient visits using programmers from major manufacturers (Medtronic, Abbott, Boston Scientific, and Biotronik).
Identify and address device abnormalities, such as lead malfunctions and End-of-Service indicators, and coordinate follow-up care with cardiologists.
Educate patients and families on device function, remote monitoring, wound care, and follow-up protocols.
Manage remote transmissions, trans-telephonic monitoring, and alert notifications.
Ensure accurate documentation and billing with appropriate CPT coding under physician oversight.
Stay informed on device advisories and recalls, following manufacturer guidelines for notifications.
Serve as a resource for device and arrhythmia management, collaborating with cardiologists, technicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
Provide cross-coverage support to satellite clinics as needed.
Maintain compliance with department policies and regulatory requirements.
Participate in ongoing education and training related to CIED management and cardiac care.
What You Bring
Education: Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor's Degree (BSN) preferred.
Licensure: Current RN license in the state of New Mexico.
Experience: 1-2 years of clinical experience required (2 years preferred), particularly in critical care, interventional cardiology, electrophysiology labs, or cardiac step-down units.
Certifications: BLS & ACLS certification required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Completion of a professional CIED program (Arrhythmia Technologies Institute, PrepMD, or similar).
Prior experience in CIED management.
International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners (IBHRE) certification.
