Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Chief Clinical Officer (CCO) to lead and support the delivery of patient-centered, trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and recovery-oriented care. The CCO will play a key role in shaping clinical strategies, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment, and ensuring that our clinical programs meet the highest standards of quality and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Leadership & Oversight: Lead the clinical team to deliver exceptional care while addressing substance use disorders, co-occurring psychiatric conditions, and other related health issues. Oversee participant services in both residential and outpatient programs.
Quality Improvement: Develop and implement clinical best practices, using a team-based approach to evaluate and adjust programs to meet community needs. Manage clinical risk and ensure adherence to accreditation standards.
Program Development & Evaluation: Work with directors and senior leadership to design and implement effective short- and long-term strategies for clinical program growth and improvement. Ensure continuous quality assurance processes are maintained.
Policy & Procedure Management: Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of policies and procedures that support clinical excellence and ensure they remain relevant to community needs.
Collaboration & Teamwork: Partner with clinical, medical, and administrative staff to coordinate care, offer case consultations, and participate in treatment planning and peer review activities.
Training & Development: Design and facilitate educational programs and training workshops to improve clinical practices, enhance staff competencies, and promote continuous professional development.
Family Wellness Leadership: Guide clinical services within the Family Wellness program, including home visitations and family group sessions, to ensure the holistic care of participants and their families.
Compliance & Confidentiality: Ensure that all clinical activities comply with state and federal regulations, including licensure, accreditation, confidentiality, and treatment standards.
Interdepartmental Collaboration:
Strategic Leadership: Work closely with the executive leadership team to align clinical programs with organizational goals, ensuring the delivery of quality services and fostering positive community partnerships.
External Relationships: Cultivate and maintain relationships with external partners, including tribal organizations and other community agencies, to enhance the scope and impact of our clinical programs.
Program Evaluation: Identify community needs, assist in the development of planning strategies, and support grant proposals that ensure the integration of participant voices in decision-making processes.
Privacy & Confidentiality:
Actively uphold privacy policies and ensure that participant information is handled in accordance with legal and ethical standards. Participate in ongoing privacy training and report any concerns regarding privacy practices.
Qualifications:
Licensure & Education: Must hold a relevant advanced clinical license (e.g., Physician, Professional Counselor, Clinical Social Worker, Psychologist, etc.) and maintain continuing education credits for both clinical licensure and supervision.
Experience: A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in clinical care, with a strong background in substance use disorder treatment and related health conditions.
Certifications: CPR certification is required, with proof of active certification provided within 30 days of employment. Must obtain Qualified Addiction Professional (QAP) status within three years.
Preferred Qualifications:
Board certification in behavioral health, addiction medicine, or addiction psychiatry is highly preferred.
Physical Requirements:
This position primarily involves office work with extended periods of time spent at a desk and on a computer.
