Job Title: Warehouse Shipper

Position Type: Temp to Hire

Pay Rate: $15.30 per hour

Location: Christiansburg, VA

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Warehouse Shipper for a temp to direct hire role supporting our client in Christiansburg, VA. In this role, you will be responsible for processing domestic shipments, assembling orders, and preparing goods for shipment. You will also record shipment data, receive and unpack materials, and report any damages or discrepancies. This position relies on established guidelines and instructions, working under immediate supervision to ensure efficient and accurate shipping operations.



*The ideal candidate with have a background or education in computer technology.

Key Responsibilities:

• Determine and coordinate the appropriate mode of transportation for items to be shipped.
• Ensure compliance with all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations regarding transportation, labeling, and documentation of materials.
• Prepare items for shipment using the necessary packing materials and procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of shipping costs, destinations, and tracking numbers as required.
• Log shipment data into the appropriate systems to ensure traceability and accountability.
• Adhere to all applicable safety and health regulations to maintain a safe working environment.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 0-6 months of experience in shipping, warehousing, or a related field.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
• Basic computer technology skills are required, including familiarity with shipping software and data entry.
• Knowledge of domestic shipping requirements and processes is preferred.
• Understanding of company policies and practices related to the safe transportation of goods and materials.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to remain in a stationary position, walk, kneel, and crouch as needed.
• Continuous use of arms, hands, wrists, legs, feet, neck, and waist.
• Operate a computer on a continual basis and communicate effectively with various levels of the organization.
• Regularly lift and/or move objects up to 50 lbs, with the ability to occasionally lift heavier items with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Occasionally ascend or descend ladders and travel as needed.
