This role is part of the Lunar Transportation business unit, which develops Blue Origin’s multiple Blue Moon lander product lines. To further Blue Origin's mission of having millions of people living and working in space, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface.

We are looking for a fluid system engineer for our Lunar Lander for NASA’s Artemis mission. Work will include the complete life cycle of from requirements definition, analysis, design, development, assembly, verification, and operation on the moon!

As part of a hardworking team of diverse engineers, you’ll be responsible for performing trade studies, deriving requirements, managing procurement, testing, and integration of heat exchangers into the Lunar Lander’s fluid system. A successful candidate will have a strong fundamental understanding of cryogenic fluid systems and demonstrated familiarity designing components which operate in multiphase flow regimes.

You will work directly with NASA and our National Team Partners as part of the Human Landing System (HLS) Sustaining Lunar Development (SLD) program. You will play a key role in developing the Lunar Transportation system that will return humans to the Moon and extend human presence permanently beyond the bounds of Earth.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Engineering or related technical subject area
• 3+ years of experience in fluid system design, analysis, component specification, and procurement
• Strong grasp of fluids and heat transfer fundamentals
• Experience performing sizing and heat transfer calculations for heat exchangers
• Familiarity with fluid system solvers such as sinda fluint or thermal desktop
• Experience in 3D CAD programs (Creo preferred) and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools (ANSYS preferred)
• Proficiency in crafting engineering drawings with GD&T (ASME Y14.5)
• Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
• Excellent verbal, written, and graphical communication skills with ability to directly collaborate with external parties including government and commercial entities
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum

• Experience in all phases of integrating components in space vehicles
• Experience in engineering analysis/support for disposition of Non-Conformance (NC) related to fluid components, machined parts, and mechanical assemblies
  
  

Compensation Range For

CA applicants is $111,690.00-$156,366.00;CO applicants is $102,382.50-$143,335.50;WA applicants is $111,690.00-$156,366.00
