Job Description

Job Description and Duties

Are you someone who actively contributes to project discussions, takes initiative in meetings, and communicates openly – raising questions, concerns, and ideas to help move work forward? Do you love investigating issues, connecting dots, and solving problems that make a real impact? If so, Claims Business Technology (CBT) is looking for Claims CARE Analysts to join us in advancing technology solutions that improve and support the way workers’ compensation claims are administered.

These positions may be filled at our Bakersfield, Eureka, Fresno, Glendale, Pleasanton, Redding, Riverside, Rohnert Park, Sacramento, Santa Ana, Stockton, or Vacaville offices.

Under the general direction of the CARE Communications Manager, the Claims CARE Analysts work closely with Claims professionals, IT, and project managers to translate business needs into smart technical solutions while also serving as a technical resource to business partners via the CARE Help Desk. Think of this role as part detective, part problem-solver, and part innovator – you’ll help uncover root causes, streamline technical processes, and make our systems smarter and more efficient for the people who rely on them every day. If you’re curious by nature, energized by untangling how systems interact, and excited to make them work better, you’ll fit right in.

As a Claims CARE Analyst, you will develop and perform the necessary skills to:

  • Act as a lead for CARE Help desk inquiries
  • Proactively collaborate with IT to resolve CARE IT tickets
  • Coordinate business testing for CARE IT issues and inquiries
  • Triage, evaluate, research, log, identify trends, and communicate CARE issues and enhancement ideas
  • Develop and/or complete scenario-based user acceptance testing (UAT) on specific projects for major releases
  • Provide guidance and act as a resource to validate CARE functionality after IT system changes/upgrades
  • Manage, coordinate, and participate in CARE projects
  • Provide technical support on complex CARE issues
  • Lead and participate in project change management and communication efforts

The ideal candidate should possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • 3+ years workers’ compensation claims experience
  • In-depth knowledge of the CARE system
  • Working knowledge of the State Fund organization, Regional Office and Corporate functions, and business policies and procedures
  • Working knowledge of various State Fund functions as they impact underwriting, marketing, and claims
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and as a team with co-workers and management to address and resolve issues
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to effectively prioritize

** Claims and/or CARE experience preferred
