Workday Security Administrator Job Description

The Workday Security Administrator manages HR and Financial applications within the Workday system. This role focuses on maintaining custom security groups, roles, domains, and policies while ensuring compliance with data privacy standards and State policies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Configure and manage Workday security, including user profiles, roles, domains, and business processes.
• Conduct audits to ensure proper security alignment and compliance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve security-related issues for users.
• Implement role-based access controls and maintain secure authentication methods (e.g., SSO/MFA).
• Stay updated on Workday product releases and assess impacts on security.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts to implement security requirements for State agencies.
• Document security incidents and continuously improve response strategies.

Requirements:

• Education : Bachelor s degree in IT, computer science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Experience :
  • 6+ years in IT, including 4+ years in Workday security.
  • Expertise in Workday security modules, user provisioning, and custom security group management.
  • Proficiency in configuring reports and migrating security using Workday Object Transporter (OX 2.0).
  • Knowledge of government compliance and data privacy standards.

Additional Details:

• Local candidates preferred, with 1-2 onsite days per week.
• Contract initially through the fiscal year, with potential for renewal or full-time offer.
