The Edgewood-Colesburg Community School District is seeking a FULL TIME 7th-12th grade Science Teacher beginning in August 2025. Approximately 500 students attend the district K-12. Junior high is currently the focus, but classes that will be taught will be determined by the qualifications of the person hired. Classroom teachers will develop lessons that include direct instruction, guided practice, collaborative learning, and independent practice through a formative assessment environment.
Classroom teachers are required to develop a flexible and differentiated learning environment to support the learning and personal growth of all students. The teacher will establish effective rapport with students; motivate students to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for middle school.Teachers will communicate with parents and supervisors about the educational and behavioral needs of individual children. In addition to grading papers, completing report cars, teachers will provide specific feedback on each child's performance. They will also meet with parents in one-on-one conferences.Ed-Co is located in scenic northeast Iowa within a 70-minute drive from Cedar Rapids, Dubuque, or Waterloo.
