School-Based Mental Health Coach – Albertville City Schools (Alabama)
Spur, a digital staffing agency, is seeking reliable and dedicated  Mental Health Coach for Albertville City Schools. 

Ideal Candidate

We’re looking for individuals who are passionate about education, enjoy working with students, and can maintain a professional demeanor in the classroom. All workers must adhere to school policies. Some opportunities may be available outside regular school hours. The mental Health Coach will assist students in overcoming barriers to the learning process. 

Requirements

• Must obtain a  State of Alabama Background Check ($48.00)
• Must have an Associates Degree or higher
• Required  online training (must complete within 2 months of employment)
• 1 Year experience in education, mental health, social work, or human services or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience

Responsibilities

• Assist students with setting and achieving academic & life goals
• Connect students with community resources and supports
• Support students in managing mental health symptoms (Coaches do not diagnose)
• Empower students in making healthy, goal oriented decisions and promote overall health and wellbeing
• Mentor and guide peer helpers as they support fellow students
• Maintain confidentiality per legal and district requirements
• Report suspected child abuse/neglect to designated agency
• Model effective communication skills with students, parents, and school staff as well as establishing appropriate boundaries
• Documentation of all student and family contacts as required
• Collaborate with school counselors to provide prevention and intervention activities
• Participate in crisis intervention and post-intervention a needed
• Attend professional development trainings and staff meetings as scheduled

Compensation & Schedule

• $30.00 per hour
• Available to work  Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (varies by location)
