QA Tester – Level II
LocationAlbany, NY (Hybrid – 50% onsite)

Job OverviewThis hybrid QA Tester role supports a large-scale Integrated Eligibility System initiative designed to modernize health and human services delivery through coordinated business practices, modern technology, and strategic partnerships. The system provides eligibility determination, enrollment, case management, and payment functionality for multiple health and human service programs, replacing and modernizing several legacy state systems.
The QA Tester will work under the guidance of a QA Lead and will play a key role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of enterprise applications using Agile methodologies and both manual and automated testing approaches.
Key ResponsibilitiesDemonstrate a strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and actively participate in daily stand-ups, iteration planning, backlog refinement, and other Agile ceremonies
Develop and execute automated testing frameworks and test scripts
Create comprehensive testing artifacts, including:
Sprint/iteration-level test plans
Project-level test plans
Test scenarios, test cases, and test scripts
Execute tests in accordance with established project standards and guidelines
Log, track, and manage defects through the defined defect management process
Coordinate and assist with:
Iteration review sessions and demonstrations
Exploratory testing
User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with business users
Support non-functional testing activities , including performance testing, vulnerability testing, and security testing
Establish testing schedules and estimates and ensure adherence to iteration timelines
Report testing progress, risks, issues, mitigations, and outcomes to management and stakeholders
Adhere to project timelines, priorities, and quality standards

Level II QA Tester with 4–7 years of experience in software testing
4–7 years of experience managing quality assurance activities across multiple high-profile projects with complex functional domains within a matrix organization
4–7 years of experience reporting status, risks, and results to stakeholders and senior management
4–7 years of experience developing test plans, test cases, tracking defects, and building automated test solutions
4–7 years of experience leading and managing functional test planning and execution activities
4–7 years of experience with automated testing tools such as Selenium or Katalon Studio
4–7 years of experience using test management and defect tracking tools such as Jira, Xray , or similar platforms
4–7 years of experience with Java scripting or related programming languages for automated test development
3–5 years of experience creating test metrics reports and dashboards using Jira or comparable tools
More than 2 years of experience performing quality assurance on projects related to child support or similar social services applications
