Job Description

Responsibilities

• Provides Psychiatric/Family Mental Health Advanced Practice Nursing.
• Advocates for patients by assisting in coordinating continuing care for those with acute and chronic psychiatric problems.
• Participates as a member of the Behavioral Health, Mental Health, and Psychiatry Service within a multidisciplinary team.
• Collaborates with families, case managers, discharge planning, and the multidisciplinary team to ensure appropriate utilization of healthcare resources.
• Performs direct patient care, including assisting psychiatrists with medication refill processes.
• Ensures timely follow-up for patient care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a Master's Degree in Nursing and a specialty as a Family Practice Nurse or Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner.
• Board eligible or board certified as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner or a Family Nurse Practitioner.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in adult psychiatry or psychiatric mental health advanced practice within the last three (3) years.
• Current, active, valid unrestricted license as a Family Nurse Practitioner or Psychiatric Mental Health Advanced Practice Nurse in at least one U.S. State, D.C., Commonwealth, territory, or jurisdiction.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification approved by the American Heart Association (AHA).
