Part-Time House Manager – Charlestown, MA

Location: Charlestown, MA (with summer travel to Cape Cod)
Schedule: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM (flexible; approx. 20 hours/week guaranteed)
Compensation: $40–$50/hour (depending on experience)
Employment Type: Live-out, Part-Time (with occasional travel flexibility)

About the Family

A warm and welcoming family in Charlestown, MA is seeking a part-time House Manager to help keep their busy household running smoothly. Mom is a stay-at-home parent who wants to devote her attention to their 14-month-old daughter and is looking for someone reliable, proactive, and organized to manage household tasks and logistics.

Key Responsibilities

• Household Organization & Tidying: Maintain order throughout the home, manage light household organization, and keep things running smoothly.
• Pet Care: Walk and care for the family’s two dogs
• Errands & Household Support: Assist with errands, meal prep, including drop-off/pick-up for the child’s activities (parking and logistics support in the city).
• Vendor Management: Coordinate and oversee household vendors and service providers
• House Sitting: Monitor and care for the home during family travel
• Plant Care: Water flowers and maintain household plants as needed.
• Occasional Childcare: While not a nanny role, occasional support (e.g., during appointments or date nights) may be requested.
• Travel Flexibility: From Memorial Day –Labor Day, spend Monday and Tuesday each week with the family at their Cape Cod home. A private guest house is available for overnight stays. During this period, spend one day each week at the Charlestown residence to check on the home and provide support as needed.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (no family car provided).
• Prefer someone local to the Boston/Charlestown area, with flexibility to travel to Cape Cod in the summer.
• Prior experience in household management, family assistance, or similar roles.
• Fully authorized to work in the U.S.
• CPR/First Aid certification a plus.
