**Job Summary and Responsibilities**
Virginia Mason Franciscan Health is seeking a full time board certified Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon to provide hospitalist coverage to practice at our award winning St. Joseph Hospital in Tacoma, Washington. St. Joseph is a 385 bed Level II Trauma Center and serves as the flagship tertiary trauma care facility.
This pivotal role offers a unique opportunity for a dedicated Orthopedic Hospitalist Trauma Surgeon to join our dynamic team. The position entails providing comprehensive 24-hour coverage for 14 days within a 28-day cycle, accumulating to an annual commitment of 26 weeks.
This full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) schedule is meticulously designed to ensure a balanced workload while guaranteeing consistent, high-quality patient care. The surgeon will be fully supported by a skilled and collaborative team, including two dedicated physician assistants who will work in tandem to optimize efficiency and extend the reach of care. This collaborative model fosters a supportive environment, allowing the surgeon to focus on complex cases and critical decision-making, while the physician assistants provide essential assistance with patient management, pre- and post-operative care, and routine follow-ups. The integrated approach of this position underscores our commitment to providing seamless and exemplary orthopedic trauma services.
**Compensation:**
+ Compensation: $800,000+ /year (this includes base salary, with additional productivity incentive and excess call coverage pay)

**Job Requirements**
+ Medical Degree
+ Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS)
+ 5 years experience after training with stable work history
+ WA medical license (active/good standing) prior to start date
+ DEA (active/no restrictions)
+ Eligible for privileges at all Virginia Mason Franciscan Health locations

**Pay Range**
$384.61 - $384.62 /hour
