While hospitality workers bore the brunt of the COVID-19 pandemic, the 1% have only gotten richer. But workers across the country are organizing and fighting back. We need your help to build working class power in the Boston area!
UNITE HERE Local 26 is looking for individuals who are passionate about fighting for justice for hospitality workers to join us for our Organizing Apprenticeship . The start date is flexible (though sooner is better). Organizing experience is neither required nor preferred. Good candidates will be flexible, sociable, reliable, and dedicated.
This apprenticeship will train you on basic and advanced organizing skills through shadowing and close work with our staff organizers. You will learn to organize people to stand up for their rights and build worker-led committees to take on multi-national corporations.
Innovative organizing campaigns, deep rank-and-file engagement, and our strong focus on leadership development make UNITE HERE! an exciting place to create change and build power with workers in the hotel, gaming, and food service industries in the US and Canada. Our goal is to not only organize non-union workers and win campaigns, but also to train effective progressive labor leaders and organizers who can develop creative and strategic campaigns to change the economic balance of power in North America.
You must have the ability to work in the Boston area. Flexibility in scheduling preferred.
