We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Medical Director to provide expert guidance and high-quality care to residents of skilled nursing facilities in Wellsville, NY. This is a 1099 contractor role offering flexibility and the opportunity to shape care standards while collaborating with a supportive healthcare team.
About the Role:
As Medical Director, you will play a key leadership role in enhancing patient care, improving clinical outcomes, and ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. You will provide both on-site and telehealth support while working closely with facility administrators, nursing staff, and attending physicians to maintain the highest quality of care.
Key Responsibilities:
Medical Leadership & Compliance: Provide medical and procedural consultation to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local healthcare regulations, including Title 42, Section 483.75(i).
Clinical Oversight: Guide the development of clinical pathways to enhance resident care and improve health outcomes.
Emergency Availability: Remain accessible to the facility 24/7 for emergencies to provide medical guidance as needed.
Quality Improvement: Attend monthly QA and/or QAPI meetings at least 10 times per year, offering insights to optimize care delivery.
Collaboration & Support: Assist the facility in coordinating with attending physicians and staff to ensure comprehensive, high-quality patient care.
Marketing & Community Engagement: Support the facility's marketing efforts and contribute to initiatives aimed at enhancing its reputation and services.

Qualifications:
Board-certified/board-eligible physician with experience in post-acute, geriatric, or skilled nursing care preferred.
Strong understanding of regulatory compliance in long-term care settings.
Ability to collaborate effectively with nursing staff, administrators, and other providers.
Comfortable with telehealth platforms and digital health solutions.
