Job Summary

Leviat is currently seeking a Maintenance & Repair Mechanic to maintain the safe working condition of the facility equipment, building, and grounds. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to work independently on all types of equipment and machinery. In addition to performing Preventive Maintenance tasks, he/she will need to diagnose and repair pneumatic, hydraulic, electric and mechanical issues.  

Job Responsibilities

• Under limited supervision, performs mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of production machinery, punch presses, saws, shears, press brakes, welding power units, feeders, de-coilers, etc.
• Should know how to operate all listed above to detect problems or malfunctions
• Should be able to read schematic drawings (hydraulic, electrical, etc.)
• Redesigns electrical/mechanical systems for incorporation into existing equipment
• Assists in design and development of new equipment or systems for new or improved processes
• Should be familiar with OSHA regulations and how they pertain to equipment and processes
• Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed

Job Requirements

• Very strong safety knowledge and ethics
• Ability to read, comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions and schematics in English
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Must be able to demonstrate proper lock out tag out procedures
• Familiarity with OSHA regulations and able to follow company production and safety procedures
