Agency: Metropolitan Transportation Authority
Location: Onsite (Graybar Building, NYC)
Rate: Depends on experience Position Overview: Project is part of the initiative to support the Metropolitan Transportation Authority in developing and maintaining critical mobile applications. The iOS Developer will work extensively with Swift, Swift UI, Objective-C, Xcode, and cloud platforms, with a focus on API integration, user interface design, and application performance optimization.
Responsibilities: - Design, develop, and maintain iOS applications in Swift and Objective-C
- Collaborate with stakeholders to refine requirements and implement technical solutions
- Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve application issues in a timely manner
- Implement persistent data storage solutions and manage operational queues
- Create and integrate APIs and handle data parsing from JSON sources
- Develop UI/UX aligned with design specifications and usability standards
- Lead code reviews and unit testing for quality assurance
- Maintain technical documentation and support knowledge transfer
- Integrate Firebase and cloud-based services (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Provide mentoring and technical guidance to junior developers
Qualifications: - 10+ years of experience in iOS development
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field
- Strong experience with Xcode, Instruments, Swift, Swift UI, and Objective-C
- Proficiency in software design patterns including MVC, MVVM, Singleton
- Expertise in multithreading, concurrency, and Grand Central Dispatch (GCD)
- Experience with Core/Swift Data and persistent data stores
- Demonstrated skills in UI/UX design and wireframing
- Proven experience integrating Firebase and using Git for version control
- Familiarity with cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, Google Cloud
- Excellent testing, debugging, and analytical skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with CI/CD tools, payment gateways, and external accessory integration is a plus
- Knowledge of C++, PHP, .Net, C#, JavaScript, and Oracle SQL is preferred
