Job Description
The Human Resource Assistant is responsible for the daily HR tasks. This position also provides backup for the Human Resource Director so learning and being exposed to all areas of HR activity will be crucial. The employee in this position must have a desire to learn and grow in the HR field while being self-motivated to complete necessary work independently.

Essential Functions:
- Manage job postings through our ATS, JazzHR.
- Send and review all pre-employment background checks.
- Complete I-9 verifications for all new hires.
- Manage new hire benefit enrollments and ensure communication is sent timely.
- Coordinate and complete all onboarding and termination processes.
- Be the liaison between the field and HR Director by communicating all important information or updates timely.
- Create and maintain employee profiles in payroll system, ADP.
- Maintain HR records; physical files and digital files through EmpTrust.
- Assist with benefit Open Enrollment and plan selections.
- Plan and organize quarterly company lunches/parties.
- Assist HR Director with community involvement initiatives.
- Assist with policies and procedures to ensure compliance.
- Ensure all markets have up to date labor law posters.
- Complete all employee changes including but not limited to direct deposit, position status, and compensation.
- Assist in all areas of HR to be able to cover for the HR Director, as needed.
- Track worker’s compensation progress and communicate with resolution managers.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Team player with positive attitude.
- Attention to detail and task completion.
- General office skills including filing, typing, and data entry.
- Efficient working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to answer telephone and emails.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is highly desirable.
- Prior experience with ADP, JazzHR, or EmpTrust is highly desirable.
- Capable of working required schedule Monday-Friday.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to walk, stand, sit throughout the day.
- Ability to read and write documents
- Must commute to office location, occasional work from home days may be discussed.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- High School Diploma required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field preferred.
- 1-2 years experience in Human Resources or Administration preferred.
- Spanish/English bilingual strongly preferred.
- PHR or SHRM certification preferred
