About the Role :
We’re hiring one dedicated in-person tutor to provide small-group English instruction focused on Regents Exam preparation for high school students at The Marie Curie High School for Medicine Nursing and Health Professions. As a tutor, you’ll work as push-in support in various classrooms (grades 9–12), partnering with teachers to deliver targeted instruction that boosts students’ reading, writing, and critical thinking skills to improve their Regents scores.

What You’ll Do:

• Collaborate with teachers and school leaders to deliver targeted, culturally responsive English instruction.
• Provide push-in support in classrooms, assisting teachers with Regents Exam preparation.
• Engage small groups of students to reinforce key concepts in English.
• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages academic growth and resilience.
• Monitor student progress and provide feedback to support continuous improvement.

Schedule:

• Days: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday
• Time: 10:30 AM – 2:30 PM
• Duration: March 11, 2025 – May 22, 2025 (excluding holidays and school conferences)
• Key Dates Off:
  • April 14–18: Spring Recess

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience: Prior experience tutoring or teaching high school English, with a focus on Regents Exam preparation.
• Subject Proficiency: Strong knowledge of high school-level English concepts and Regents requirements.
• Team Player: A collaborative spirit and a desire to work closely with teachers and students.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Passion: A commitment to educational equity and social justice for minority and low-income students.
• Availability: Must be able to work the specified schedule consistently.
