Be a leader in Medicaid payment and care delivery reform at the Department of Vermont Health Access (DVHA). DVHA's Payment Reform Unit is seeking a qualified data analyst to join a tight-knit team of creative and critical thinkers to further its work of advancing value-based provider payment models in support of DVHA's mission to improve Vermonters' health and well-being by providing access to high-quality, cost-effective health care. Have the work/life balance you need with a Monday-Friday schedule and a supportive hybrid work environment, eleven paid state holidays, and a robust benefits package.
The successful candidate will provide research, statistical and program evaluation work at a professional level to support the design, development and implementation of value-based payment models for Medicaid covered services in partnership with multiple departments across the Agency of Human Services.
The day-to-day work is dynamic and driven by the needs of the given payment reform program. While working in a range of Medicaid covered health care and human services, you will be involved in the full breadth of Medicaid programs. The work relies heavily on knowledge and skills in health services and policy research. You will use health data analytics to develop accurate, responsive, and appropriately detailed analyses. You will measure and monitor Medicaid enrollment, utilization, expenditures and program performance. It regularly requires the ability to assess eligibility, assess health data needs and data gaps, evaluate the quality of existing data, and integrate existing data to ensure its usefulness for decision-making. These data can be used to evaluate health status, analyze the effectiveness of policies and programs, and monitor the effectiveness of interventions in terms of health outcomes and cost of services.
