Academy Certification:

Certified Firefighter II (Colorado or nationally recognized certifications)
Certified Fire Instructor 1*
Certified Fire Officer 1*
Hazmat Operations
Driver Operator/Aerial**
CO or National Register EMT-Basic***
NIMS 100, 200, 300*, 700, 800
NWCG 130/190/L-180 with Red Card
NWCG FFT1/ICT5*
Work Capacity Test at the Arduous Level (Pack Test)
Must obtain within 18 months of hire
** Must obtain within 6 months of hire
*** Internal EFR applicants must obtain within 6 months of hire; external candidates must have certification at the time of hire
Prior Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent (additional education/training in firefighting or emergency services preferred)
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (must obtain Colorado driver's license within 30 days of hire)
Ability to pass physical agility tests, medical examinations, and background checks
Valid Candidate Physical Abilities Test (CPAT) at the time of application and current at the time of hire
Valid FireTEAM test score through the National Testing Network within 12 months prior to application submission
Strong decision-making skills and ability to remain calm under pressure
Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
EFR does not sponsor applicants for work visas; proof of eligibility to work in the United States will be required if hired
Use of medicinal or recreational marijuana is not permitted.
