Role Summary:

Indeck Energy, a leader in the development and operation of renewable and conventional power generation, is seeking a highly motivated Financial Analyst who will directly support management in its project finance and business development activities for utility scale power generation developments across the US.   Responsibilities:  

• Develop discounted cash flow (DCF) models to analyze the economic merits and risks associated with solar, battery storage and natural gas power generation projects.
• Contribute to the development of project financing structures and analyze alternative approaches.
• Collaborate with company engineers, developers, originators, and accounting professionals to develop appropriate assumptions for project models.
• Interpret terms in operating agreements, financing agreements, power hedge agreements, and other project agreements and communicate findings to management.
• Analyze financial performance of existing assets, identify areas for optimization, and support plant operations on dispatch decisions.
• Prepare annual plant budgets, organize critical assumptions, and analyze variable and fixed cost components.

Desired Skills & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Engineering.
• Demonstrated ability to develop complex financing models in Excel.
• Familiarity with project or corporate finance transactions and documentation.
• Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Possesses self-starter qualities with the ability to work independently with minimal direction.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Ability to prioritize a number of concurrent tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to work in the United States without employer support or sponsorship.
• Non-remote. Must be able to come into the office, M-F, 8am - 5pm.
