Electrical Wiring Designer

Job Overview

In this role, you will be responsible for designing cutting-edge electrical wiring systems for industrial applications. You’ll be at the forefront of our engineering efforts, working alongside other departments to create and maintain wiring schematics, provide technical support, and help develop solutions that push the boundaries of our product offerings. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Design and Innovate: Lead the design of custom electrical wiring systems for state-of-the-art chiller systems.
• Source & Select Components: Research and source the latest electrical components that enhance system performance and reliability.
• CAD Mastery: Use CAD tools to create and update electrical wiring schematic diagrams, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
• Manage Documentation: Develop and maintain Bills of Material (BOM), wiring schematics, service instructions, and other essential system documentation.
• Collaborate & Communicate: Work closely with other departments to address challenges, implement improvements, and maintain high-quality standards across engineering.
• Continuous Improvement: Play an active role in process improvements, product design standardization, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Deliver Quality: Ensure all designs meet established KPIs and contribute to creating exceptional products that exceed customer expectations.

Required Skills and Certifications

• Educational Background: High school diploma, or an Associate’s degree or apprenticeship in electrical trade programs is a plus.
• CAD Expertise: Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D (CAD is a must!) for creating electrical schematics.
• Electrical Knowledge: Strong understanding of electrical systems and controls, with a solid technical aptitude.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with colleagues and customers.
• Organized and Detail-Oriented: Exceptional organizational and planning skills with attention to detail.
• Analytical & Proactive: Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive mindset to drive results.
• Team Player: Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams, while also excelling independently when needed.

Preferred Skills

• Electrical Schematic Creation: Experience in creating detailed and accurate electrical schematics.
• Controller Expertise: Knowledge in the setup and parameter selection for parametric controllers.
• Industry Standards: Familiarity with UL and CE requirements for industrial controls.
• Manufacturing Insights: Deep understanding of manufacturing processes and limitations to enhance design feasibility.
• Experience Matters: 5+ years of experience in a design-to-manufacture and/or assembly environment.
• Bonus Points: Familiarity with industrial communication protocols is a plus!

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit for extended periods of time while working on designs.
• Must be able to stand, bend, lift, and move equipment or supplies as required.
• Ability to endure extended exposure to computer monitors, with necessary breaks to manage eye strain.
• Travel may be required occasionally (less than 5%).
