Gettle is currently seeking an experiencedElectrical Estimatorto join our estimating department. The ideal candidate will enjoy the challenge of working on design-build projects and working to secure profitable projects for our installation teams. The successful candidate will have a wealth of knowledge from experience working their way up through the ranks as a field electrician, ultimately into an estimator role. This person will join a team of senior level estimators, each with various levels of expertise in power, lighting, medium voltage, fire alarm, access and security, and low voltage systems, as well numerous related building codes and standards. You will receive support from our in-house Engineering Department and will need to have the ability to work independently, as well as within a team. In this role, you will report to the Vice President of Estimating and Engineering. Electrical Estimator | Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Analyze project drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates for electrical work. Research and source materials, equipment, and labor costs to provide accurate and competitive pricing. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to align estimates with project scope and requirements. Identify potential project risks and incorporate risk management strategies in estimates. Prepare detailed cost breakdowns and timelines for proposals and bids. Communicate with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to obtain current pricing and availability. Track and update cost databases, ensuring estimates are based on accurate and up-to-date information. Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits to assess project requirements and site conditions. Review and adjust estimates as project scope or costs change during the bidding or project planning process. Support project handoff to operations, ensuring all stakeholders are informed of estimate details. Electrical Estimator | Requirements: Bachelors degree in electrical engineering, construction management, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered. 15+ years of experience as a field electrician 5+ years of proven experience in electrical estimating, preferably in commercial, industrial, or residential construction. Strong understanding of electrical systems, construction methods, materials, and industry practices. Complete understanding of design drawings, specs, proposals and other elements related to estimates for projects. Knowledge of the NEC and other related electrical codes and standards. Proficiency in estimation software (e.g., Accubid, ConEst, McCormick) and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project). Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to communicate effectively with clients, suppliers, and project team members.
