Position Overview

The Electrical Estimator will be responsible for developing accurate, competitive estimates for commercial electrical projects, including ground-up construction, tenant improvements, and design-build work. The role works closely with preconstruction, project management, and executive leadership to support successful project delivery and long-term growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed electrical estimates from conceptual budgets through GMP and final pricing
• Perform complete quantity takeoffs for power, lighting, fire alarm, low-voltage, and related systems
• Review drawings, specifications, and scope documents for accuracy and completeness
• Develop labor, material, and equipment pricing using historical data and current market conditions
• Participate in negotiated work, design-build, and preconstruction services
• Solicit, review, and level vendor and subcontractor pricing
• Identify scope gaps, risk items, and value-engineering opportunities
• Support leadership with bid strategy, project phasing, and risk assessment
• Coordinate with project management and field teams during handoff
• Maintain estimating databases, assemblies, and pricing benchmarks

Qualifications

• 5+ years of electrical estimating experience with a commercial electrical contractor
• Strong knowledge of commercial electrical systems and construction means and methods
• Experience with negotiated and design-build work preferred
• Proficiency with Accubid (Classic/Enterprise/Anywhere), ConEst, or similar estimating software
• Ability to interpret complex construction documents and specifications
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Stable work history and interest in long-term career growth
