Responsibilities:
- Performing echocardiograms (2-D Echo, Bubble Study, Color Doppler, Imaging with Contrast Agents, M-Mode, Portable Studies, RVIT, RVOT, Routine, Simpson's Rule, Diastology, LV Strain/LV Volume, Proximal Isovelocity Surface Area) on adult patients in acute care settings, including those with advanced devices (Impella, LVAD, ECMO, structural heart devices).
- Working independently in a high-volume environment.
- Utilizing Philips echocardiography machines.
- Adhering to ASE guidelines for protocols and contrast use.
- Documenting findings in EPIC and ScImage (PACS).
- Collaborating with the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
- Potentially providing coverage in the outpatient department.
- Completing pre/post device imaging.
- Maintaining isolation precautions.
- Performing procedures on patients in ICU/ED settings.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Minimum 1 year of experience working independently in a high-volume center.
- Experience with adult acute care echocardiography.
- Proficiency in various echocardiographic techniques (listed above).
- Competency using Philips echocardiography machines.
- ARDMS RDCS AE certification.
- BLS certification.
- CCI certification.
- RDCS certification.
- Experience with EPIC and ScImage (PACS) systems.
- Experience with pre/post device imaging.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Experience with GE echocardiography machines.
- Experience with advanced devices (Impella, LVAD, ECMO, structural heart devices).
Special Considerations:
- RTO is not allowed. Call-offs or additional RTO may result in shift cancellation.
- Float coverage may be required in the outpatient department.
- Weekend requirement: 6 weekend shifts per contract.
- 24-hour orientation (3 days of facility/protocol training, additional preliminary reporting as needed).
Scheduling:
- Shifts rotate between 0600-1430 and 0800-1630.
- Unit self-schedules, with shift availability determining assignment.
- Primarily hospital-based, with potential for outpatient coverage.
