Key Responsibilities
Patient Management
Supervise and oversee patient care, ensuring quality dialysis treatments.
Monitor patient responses to treatment, assess conditions, and make necessary adjustments.
Use professional discretion in critical situations, intervening and notifying physicians when needed.
Manage patient schedules and assign staff based on care priorities and skill levels.
Ensure accurate and complete admissions, discharges, and documentation.
Oversee vascular access monitoring and anemia management protocols.
Lead interdisciplinary team care conferences and maintain accurate medical records.
Center Operations & Compliance
Participate in Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives.
Ensure adherence to infection control policies and oversee patient vaccinations.
Analyze incident reports and implement corrective actions.
Maintain compliance with state and federal ESRD regulations and Renal Network guidelines.
Participate in Governing Body Meetings to ensure smooth facility operations.
Leadership & Team Management
Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment.
Oversee staffing, scheduling, and team development.
Conduct monthly staff meetings and performance evaluations.
Ensure adherence to policies and procedures and provide necessary training.
Act as a mentor, providing guidance and support to team members.
Fiscal & Facility Management
Monitor budgets, control costs, and ensure efficient use of resources.
Oversee facility maintenance and equipment safety.
Communicate needs to Technical Services for repairs and improvements.
Customer Service & Patient Relations
Cultivate a patient-centered culture with exceptional customer service.
Develop strong relationships with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
Proactively address and resolve patient concerns.
What You Bring
Education & Experience:
Minimum of one (1) year of RN experience required.
At least one (1) year of hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis experience required (three years preferred).
BSN preferred.
CNN/CDN certification preferred.
Management or supervisory experience preferred.
At least three (3) months of experience training patients in self-care for PD & HHD.
Skills & Certifications:
Active RN license in the state of New York.
Current CPR certification.
Strong leadership and team-building skills.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word) and electronic medical records.
Knowledge of state and federal ESRD regulations.
Ability to collaborate with medical directors and healthcare teams.
