Job Description

We are seeking a Dialysis Nurse Manager to oversee the daily operations of a dialysis center. In this role, you will ensure high-quality patient care, lead a team of professionals, and manage the center's operations, including patient management, staffing, and financial oversight. Key Responsibilities

Patient Management

Oversee and supervise patient care, ensuring a high standard of service.

Monitor and document patient responses to dialysis treatments.

Respond swiftly to critical situations and implement necessary interventions.

Coordinate patient schedules and staff assignments based on care priorities.

Manage patient admissions, discharges, and treatment plans in collaboration with physicians.

Lead vascular access management efforts, ensuring timely monitoring and action.

Oversee anemia and adequacy management, implementing necessary treatment modifications.

Conduct routine patient rounding to address concerns and ensure quality care.

Manage interdisciplinary team meetings to optimize patient care plans.

Maintain accurate and timely medical records in compliance with policies.

Center Management

Act as a key member of the Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement (QAPI) team, identifying and addressing clinical trends.

Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and oversee vaccination programs.

Analyze and report significant incidents, implementing corrective actions as needed.

Maintain compliance with ESRD Network guidelines and governing body policies.

Oversee environmental and facility maintenance to ensure a safe and efficient care setting.

Personnel & Leadership

Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment for nursing staff.

Develop staff schedules and arrange coverage for absences.

Conduct monthly staff meetings to ensure clear communication and address concerns.

Evaluate staff performance, provide mentorship, and ensure clinical competency.

Ensure policies and procedures are followed, taking corrective action when necessary.

Financial & Resource Management

Monitor budgets, ensuring cost-effective operations.

Manage supply inventory and minimize waste.

Oversee the proper use and maintenance of equipment and facility resources.

Customer Service & Culture

Promote a positive and patient-centered culture within the dialysis center.

Build strong relationships with patients, families, physicians, and staff.

Address patient and staff concerns with professionalism and efficiency.

Qualifications & Experience

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license (New York).

Minimum 1 year of RN experience and at least 1 year of dialysis experience required (3 years preferred).

BSN preferred but not required.

CNN/CDN certification preferred.

Previous experience in management or supervision is highly desirable.

At least 3 months of experience training patients in self-care dialysis (PD & HHD).

Skills & Competencies

Strong leadership and team management skills.

Excellent clinical knowledge of dialysis treatments and ESRD regulations.

Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems and Microsoft Office.

Ability to educate, mentor, and support both staff and patients effectively.

Strong communication skills and a patient-focused approach.

Current CPR certification required.
