Position Summary

Our client is seeking an experienced Data Center Specialist to join their Infrastructure Operations team. The ideal candidate will bring 5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure and data center operations , particularly in multi-site environments. This role plays a key part in supporting global site consolidation projects across enterprise IT landscapes, including workload migration, virtualization, and optimization initiatives.

The specialist will work closely with regional teams across North America, APAC, and EMEA , performing technical assessments and supporting infrastructure transitions as part of global transformation efforts.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess and determine disposition of servers/workstations at identified sites using predefined tools and processes.
• Collaborate with local SysOps teams to validate and execute disposition plans.
• Identify and manually add missing devices to the CMDB, ensuring accurate asset tracking.
• Lead execution of actions required for each device’s agreed-upon disposition.
• Escalate issues hindering project goals or timely site completion.
• Maintain detailed tracking via spreadsheets including disposition status, comments, relocation data, and site completion status.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• 8+ years of hands-on experience in IT infrastructure, including:
  • Virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.)
  • Linux and Windows server environments
  • Networking and data center hardware
• Experience in infrastructure consolidation or transformation projects
• Proficiency with Excel, including pivot tables and filters
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently
• Strong communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Process-oriented mindset with attention to documentation and improvement

Preferred Skills

• Experience in multi-site IT infrastructure and data center consolidation for software development or simulation environments
• Familiarity with server/storage lifecycle management
• Understanding of latency and performance optimization in globally distributed systems

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift and move objects up to 50 lbs during events or onsite equipment relocations
