Controls Engineer / PLC Programmer - Shape the Future of Industrial Automation

What You'll Be Doing

• System Design & Programming: Design and program PLC-based control systems using Allen-Bradley RSLogix/Studio 5000

• HMI Development: Create intuitive HMI/SCADA interfaces and implement robust control solutions

• Robotics Integration: Program and troubleshoot robotic systems, primarily FANUC platforms

• Vision Systems: Implement and optimize machine vision solutions using Cognex, Keyence, and IRVision

• Safety Compliance: Ensure all systems meet industrial safety standards (ISO 13849, NFPA 79, UL508A)

• Client Collaboration: Travel to customer sites (30%) for commissioning and troubleshooting

• Cross-functional Leadership: Work closely with mechanical and electrical engineers on integrated solutions

Core Skills and Qualifications

Required:

- 5+ years of PLC programming experience

- Extensive knowledge of motion control systems (servo motors, VFDs, stepper drives)

- Proficiency in industrial sensor integration and troubleshooting

- Strong electrical schematic creation and interpretation skills

- Experience with industrial communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profinet)

- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities in industrial settings

Bonus Points For:

• FANUC, ABB, or KUKA robot programming experience (2+ years preferred)

• AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN expertise (2+ years preferred)

• SCADA development experience (Ignition, FactoryTalk View, Wonderware)

• SQL database knowledge

• Python or C# programming skills

• IIoT and Industry 4.0 technology experience
