Job Description

The Chief Clinical Officer (CCO) plays a crucial role in delivering patient-centered, culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and recovery-oriented care. With a strong commitment to whole-person care, this position ensures that clinical services are effective, compassionate, and aligned with community needs. The CCO will lead clinical programs, oversee quality improvement initiatives, and manage accreditation processes, all while promoting a collaborative and supportive team environment.

The CCO is expected to model high standards of professionalism, align programs with the organization's mission, and ensure the clinical team's success through support, mentorship, and guidance.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead clinical teams in implementing best practices, ensuring that treatment programs are effective and culturally appropriate for community needs.
Develop and oversee policies and procedures for clinical programs, ensuring they are up-to-date and aligned with industry standards.
Provide oversight of clinical services in residential and outpatient programs, ensuring effective treatment of substance use disorders, co-occurring psychiatric illnesses, and related medical conditions.
Lead initiatives that support family wellness, including home visitation and family group sessions.
Collaborate with medical, clinical, and administrative staff to ensure coordinated care and participate in treatment planning and peer review processes.
Ensure high-quality documentation and compliance with all regulations and organizational policies.
Offer leadership in crisis situations, providing clinical guidance and support as needed.
Develop and deliver educational programs for staff, ensuring continuous improvement in clinical practices.
Maintain a commitment to confidentiality and adhere to all privacy regulations, including HIPAA and other relevant laws.

Collaborative Responsibilities:
Work with senior leadership and various departments to ensure strategic alignment and create opportunities for enhancing clinical programs.
Build and maintain partnerships with external organizations and stakeholders to strengthen community support and ensure comprehensive care for participants.
Identify opportunities for improving service delivery, including integration of feedback from participants and staff.
Support the development of strategic initiatives and grant proposals to enhance program offerings and secure necessary resources.

Qualifications:
Required:

Licensed in the State of Alaska in one of the following fields: Physician, Professional Counselor, Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, Clinical Social Worker, Marital and Family Therapist, Psychologist, or Psychological Associate.
A minimum of 7 to 10 years of experience providing patient care, with demonstrated leadership in clinical settings.
Current CPR certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.
Ability to obtain Qualified Addiction Professional (QAP) status within three years.

Preferred:

Board-certified in behavioral health, addiction medicine, or addiction psychiatry.
Advanced knowledge and experience in substance use disorders (SUDs), mental health conditions, and culturally relevant care practices.

Physical Requirements:
Primarily works in an office setting with extended periods of sitting and working on a computer.
