COMPANY DESCRIPTION
Petee's Pie Company is based on a simple concept: make the best pie money can buy using real ingredients. We make our pies using seasonal local produce and natural fair-trade sweeteners. Our crust is made with organic flour and grass-fed butter from New York State. We make them all from scratch on-site and bake them fresh throughout the day. Petee's Pie Company, home of "NYC's Absolute Best Pie" according to New York Magazine, is in search of energetic, enthusiastic bakers to work at our flagship pie shop in the Lower East Side.
This is a full-time, 40 hour per week position starting at $21/hour with the possibility of overtime.
Applicants must be punctual, professional, responsible, and communicative. You must have at least one year of relevant experience preparing food in a bakery, restaurant, or café. Additionally, you must possess:
-ability to carry 50 lb up/down stairs
-food handler's certificate (or ability to obtain one upon hiring)
-availability on weekends AND on/around holidays
-ability to work flexibly as part of a team in a fast-paced workplace
-ability to handle feedback constructively
-ability to prioritize tasks, work efficiently, and maintain stamina
Responsibilities include:
-taking inventory and creating production list for the day
-preparing and sheeting dough
-preparing pie fillings
-preparing icebox pies
-assembling and baking pies
-clear communication with coworkers and management
-cleaning tasks such as dishwashing, organizing, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, and taking out trash and recycling
-effectively managing product inventory for successful order fulfillment
Hours:
-Five day work week includes two consecutive days off. Currently hiring for Thursday-Monday with Tuesday and Wednesday off, and Saturday-Wednesday with Thursday and Friday off.
-Hours are 7am-3pm, with longer shifts during critical business periods.
-This is a full time position with potential for overtime.
