Position Description:Assistant Professor of Collaborative Piano
Job Description: The University of Iowa School of Music is now accepting applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Music in Collaborative Piano. Starting in fall of 2026, the University of Iowa will offer MA and DMA degrees in Collaborative Piano. The ideal candidate will play an important role in shaping this program.

Duties: The Dr. Jo Benda and Dr. Charles Platz Assistant Professor of Collaborative Piano will lead the collaborative piano program; teach collaborative piano courses, coach chamber music, and collaborate with faculty in performances and recordings. We seek candidates who are committed to excellence in teaching, research, and service, and who will contribute to a welcoming and respectful academic community.
Start Date: This appointment will begin August 19, 2026.

Education Requirement:
Master’s degree in collaborative piano or piano performance (must be in hand by start date).
Required Qualifications:National and international chamber music performing experience
Collegiate teaching experience
Expertise in either instrumental chamber music or a combination of instrumental and vocal.
Desirable Qualifications:Earned doctorate degree
Collaborative piano teaching experience at the collegiate level.
