JOB SUMMARY The AmeriCorps Program Manager oversees the successful implementation of the AmeriCorps program, focusing on managing day-to-day activities of AmeriCorps members. The role includes member recruitment, training, support, and compliance management while maintaining productive relationships with host sites and community partners. This position works closely with other departments to support members in fulfilling the program’s objectives.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Program Management - Recruit, supervise, support, train, and facilitate the exit process for AmeriCorps members.
- Develop and manage a comprehensive project calendar, including training, service delivery goals, and member activities.
- Ensure proper member placement and support through collaboration with site managers.
- Track and monitor member service hours, training, and compliance with program requirements.
- Address member relations issues with discretion and respect.
Member & Site Management - Serve as the primary contact for AmeriCorps members and host sites, providing guidance and addressing any concerns.
- Oversee member placements to ensure alignment with program objectives and valuable service experiences.
- Lead member orientation, ongoing training, and professional development initiatives.
Community Partner Development - Cultivate and maintain relationships with community partners, host sites, and stakeholders to enhance program effectiveness.
- Represent the AmeriCorps program at community events and meetings as needed.
Data Management & Compliance - Oversee data collection and tracking for AmeriCorps program activities to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
- Monitor compliance with AmeriCorps program guidelines and grant requirements, including member performance evaluations.
- Support the grant application activity as applicable .
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES - Prepare monthly AmeriCorps reports and presentations for relevant coalitions and boards.
- Support organizational projects as needed, including cross-departmental initiatives and training.
- Maintain certifications and undergo required training for program tools and reporting systems, such as Charity Tracker, Thrive Hub, or other relevant trainings.
QUALIFICATIONS Skills & Experience - Demonstrated ability to lead, inspire, and develop a diverse team, fostering a culture of collaboration, growth, and accountability.
- Proven experience managing and supporting 20+ AmeriCorps members or similar volunteer roles.
- 2+ years of experience in program management, preferably in nonprofit or community-based settings, with experience in project implementation.
- Familiarity with nonprofit compliance and reporting standards; experience with grant-funded programs is beneficial.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant program management software.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective interactions with community partners, volunteers, and team members.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF JOB - Travel : This role will require travel to various AmeriCorps host sites and community events. Some local travel by car and occasional out-of-town travel may be necessary.
- Mobility : Occasional movement within the office and during site visits may involve standing for extended periods, walking, bending, and carrying supplies (typically up to 20 lbs).
- Public Interaction : Frequent interaction with AmeriCorps members, clients, and community partners, sometimes in busy environments.
- Event Support : During special events or outreach activities, the employee may assist with setting up and breaking down materials or equipment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT This position operates primarily in a climate-controlled office environment with flexibility for occasional remote work as agreed upon. Periodic visits to AmeriCorps host sites may be required.
