Job Description

Job Summary

The Preschool Aide supports the Lead Preschool Teacher in creating a safe, nurturing, and faith-filled learning environment. This position assists in classroom activities, supervision, and the care of young children, promoting their spiritual, social, emotional, and cognitive development in alignment with Catholic values.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist with daily classroom routines, activities, and transitions.

  • Support the teacher in implementing developmentally appropriate lessons and faith-based activities.

  • Supervise children during indoor and outdoor play, meals, rest time, and bathroom breaks.

  • Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment.

  • Encourage positive social interactions, respectful behavior, and Christian values among students.

  • Communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents as needed.

  • Attend staff meetings and professional development as required.

  • Uphold and model Catholic teachings in word and action.

  • Ensure compliance with school safety protocols and diocesan Safe Environment policies.

Job Requirements

  • Experience working with preschool-aged children strongly preferred.

  • Practicing Catholic preferred; must support the mission and teachings of the Catholic Church.

  • Ability to collaborate, take direction, and maintain confidentiality.

  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).

  • Completion of diocesan Safe Environment training and background check required.
