Account Manager

Location: Richmond, CA

Job Type: Temp-to-Hire

Compensation: $25–$28 per hour

A respected logistics and distribution partner in Richmond, CA is seeking an experienced Account Manager to join their growing team. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity offering stability, professional development, and the chance to work with a highly collaborative operations group.

Position Overview

The Account Manager will be responsible for managing customer orders from entry through shipment. This role acts as the primary liaison between clients and internal departments, ensuring timely and accurate order processing, clear communication, and high levels of customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Enter new customer sales orders within 24 hours of receipt
  • Create and manage shipment containers using ERP system
  • Coordinate with logistics for transportation arrangements
  • Utilize project management tools to track and communicate status of orders
  • Respond promptly to internal and external email inquiries
  • Follow up daily on open tasks to ensure order fulfillment goals
  • Maintain a 99%+ accuracy rate on customer accounts
  • Proactively resolve issues and suggest process improvements
  • Provide support coverage for other Account Managers as needed
  • Adhere to all internal policies and industry compliance standards
  • Foster cross-departmental collaboration to support overall company goals

Qualifications

Preferred Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Previous experience in account management or order processing
  • Familiarity with logistics, purchasing, or operations coordination

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • Experience using project/task management tools (e.g., Asana or similar)
  • ERP or order management system experience preferred
